Photo Album 4 - Recruit Training
While in recruit training, Missouri State Highway Patrol Recruits are taught handcuffing techniques, criminal investigations, how to administer a battery of standardized field sobriety tests, and many other advanced law enforcement techniques.
After being pepper-sprayed, recruits must proceed through a series of obstacles to include giving verbal commands to a non-compliant subject, and requesting emergency back-up using the Patrol radio. This type of training ensures the future troopers are able to remain calm, and perform their duties.
As part of academy training, recruits are taught how to administer standing and seated Standardized Field Sobriety Tests in order to detect impaired drivers.
